What time can I finish?

Your start time, work hours and unpaid break. One clear finish time.

THE EVERYDAY TIME TOOLKIT

Exact minutes. No payroll rounding. Clock changes and time zones are not included.

Work out a planned finish time

Enter when you start, the work duration you need to complete, and the total unpaid break time. The result gives your planned clock-out time in both 12-hour and 24-hour formats. A finish after midnight is explicitly labelled next day.

Finish time = start time + required work time + unpaid breaks

Eight hours of work with lunch

Starting at 08:45, working eight hours and taking a 30-minute unpaid lunch gives a finish of 17:15 (5:15 PM). For seven hours 30 minutes of work and a 45-minute unpaid break, the same start gives 17:00 (5:00 PM).

Paid and unpaid breaks

Only enter breaks that must be added outside your required work duration. A paid break already included in that duration should not be added again. The calculator does not determine your break entitlement or whether a break is paid.

Night shifts and limits

A 22:15 start, eight work hours and a 30-minute unpaid break gives 06:45 the next day. This version uses clock arithmetic, not dated elapsed time. A daylight-saving change can make actual elapsed time different. Work plus breaks cannot exceed 24 hours in this tool.

The calculated time is a planning aid, not permission to leave or proof of completed work. Check your actual hours and workplace arrangements.
