Add a list of time durations
Enter one duration per line using hours:minutes, such as 7:30. You can paste a plain-text list from another document. Blank lines are ignored. The result shows the combined hours and minutes, exact total minutes and decimal equivalent.
Total minutes = sum of (each hour value × 60 + its minutes)
A simple worked example
The durations 7:30, 8:00 and 6:45 total 22 hours 15 minutes, or 1,335 minutes. Dividing 1,335 by 60 gives 22.25 decimal hours. Unlike clock times, a duration may exceed 24 hours: 27:15 is valid here.
Use durations, not start and finish times
A line containing 09:00 is interpreted as nine hours of duration, not a 9 AM start time. A line containing 17:00 is interpreted as seventeen hours, not the end of your workday. To subtract starts from finishes and account for breaks, use the work-hours or time card calculator instead.
Input limits and error checking
Minute fields must be 00–59. A value such as 7:75 is rejected, not silently normalised. Decimal entries such as 7.5, negative values and lines containing labels are also rejected. The error identifies the line to correct. This version accepts up to 1,000 non-empty lines, up to four digits for each hour value and a combined total of 1,000,000 minutes.
No list is uploaded to a server. Keep your original data: this tool does not save the pasted durations between visits.
